If you have ever been to my apartment, you will know that I am a fan of bright white spaces with the odd pop of colour and a fair share of plants. As I live in a one bed apartment, it is important to keep everything quite neutral in order to maximise the sense of space and avoid over cluttering. That said, if space wasn’t an issue, I would definitely like to inject a bit more colour. Right now, the shops are FULL of some gorgeous things that I would absolutely love to have in my home, if I had the space for it (and if I was allowed to redecorate every day). Instead of feeling sorry for myself as I walk around the shops drooling over the things I would love to own, I thought I might as well prepare a mood board showing you some of the things that are on my homeware wish list. All of the pieces are from Oliver Bonas. Here we go…….
There is nothing I would love more in my home right now than a velvet sofa. They are so retro and cool, but still very chic; they have become so popular again and I’m loving it! I am obsessed with this ‘Le Cocktail Velvet Twin Couch’ in duck egg. I think it would look so cute as a second sofa in a big living room, or it would look equally great in a big bedroom. This comes in a range of different colours. I like the pale rose colour just as much, but sticking to the topic of velvet furniture, I think this ‘Le Cocktail Velvet Chair’ in Pale Rose is also absolutely gorgeous. It would look great with the duck egg sofa in a living room. I would also LOVE to have this chair in my bedroom. I think it would add just the perfect pop of colour. The footstool from the same range in pale rose is just as amazing. In addition to being used as a footstool, this would look really great at the end of a bed, or as stool sitting in front of a dressing table. All three of these pieces are interchangeable, and would look great pretty much anywhere in a home.
Being a massive fan of marble and gold in general, I think this ‘Luxe Round Side Table’ is absolutely perfect! I love a round side table and marble makes everything look so nice. The gold legs are gorgeous and they give it a really antique look while the marble makes it look very modern. This kind of table would look great in any living room.
If I had an absolutely massive living room, this ‘Miroco Rattan Swing Chair’ would 100% be the first thing I would install in it! Lol. I know it is a bit of a strange item of furniture to have in your home, but this one looks so cool, and the shape of it along with the lovely woven finish gives it a very calming and relaxing feel (not to mention it looks sooo comfortable). I think this would also fit really well in a home office (but might stop you from getting any work done lol).
Most of the furniture in my apartment is white (apart from one small unit in my kitchen area). As much as I love my white furniture, there are definitely times when I think something a bit more colourful would be nice, and these ‘Keira Wooden Chest of Drawers’ are so, so pretty. They would inject some colour into a room without being too overpowering. I absolutely love the different shades of wood in these, and whilst being colourful they are still fairly neutral, so will look good in any room. The different knobs on it also give it some character. I especially love the gold knobs and they would match with the other furniture in my home which is be a bonus ?.
Lamps are something that are really lacking in my home currently, but they are something which really add a nice feel to a room. I absolutely love this ‘Munari Table Lamp’ with its marble and gold base and dusky green shade. This lamp would look really nice on top of the Kiera chest of drawers. The gold base on the lamp would complement the gold knobs on the drawers too!
I don’t think there is an easier way to inject some colour into a room than adding a plant. Plants just make a room feel instantly fresher and more spacious. What’s better than a terrarium?……… a hanging terrarium!! These gold and glass hanging terrariums are so pretty and would really brighten up a room. They would look great grouped together (but at different lengths) in a large room, or just hanging on it’s own in a smaller room.
Let me know what’s on your homeware wish list or if you have any of the items I listed above ?
